Terms of Service
Last updated November 7, 2026
About These Terms
These Terms are an agreement between you and Hidden Haus, the brand under which an individual developer runs the free browser game Hidden Roof at roof.hidden.haus and its multiplayer servers (the “Service”; “we” or “us”). By playing, you agree to them; if you do not, do not use the Service. Personal data is covered by the Privacy Policy, and the source code by its LICENSE.
Age
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If we learn that a player is under 18, we may end their session and block their access.
The Game
The Service and everything in it belong to Hidden Haus or its licensors. You may play it in your browser for your own non-commercial entertainment, and stream or publish videos of your play, including for money. You may not copy, host, sell or clone it, or reverse-engineer it except where mandatory law allows. Third-party components keep their own licenses, listed in the game’s Credits.
Rules
Do not paint anything or choose a nickname that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful or harassing, that infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark or other rights, or that contains anyone’s personal data. Do not impersonate others, cheat, use bots, disrupt other players, or attack or overload the servers.
Moderation. We moderate by hand, with no automated decisions. If we reasonably believe, from a report or from what we see in a session, that you have broken these rules or the law, we may, in proportion: erase your paint, change your nickname, remove you from a session, or ban you from multiplayer for a set time or for good. A ban covers your IP address (for IPv6, its network) and your device id, kept only as hashes (see the Privacy Policy), so anyone else playing from them is blocked too; single player stays open. The game shows a banned player the reason and when the ban ends; for any other measure, email us and we tell you the reason and the rule.
To report a player or their paint, email roof@hidden.haus with the time, session code, nickname, and what is wrong and why; we confirm it and tell you what we decided. To appeal a measure, or a ban that blocks you because of someone else, email the same address; we review it in good faith and lift or shorten it if it was wrong or unfair.
Your Paint and Recordings
Everyone in a multiplayer session sees your nickname, avatar and paint live. You keep any rights you have in your paint, and grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and show it as needed to run the Service.
We may record and publish screenshots and video of multiplayer sessions to promote Hidden Roof and Hidden Haus: in trailers, short videos, social media and advertisements. They can show your paint, avatar and nickname. For that you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license, which we may extend to the platforms and editors involved, to record, edit and publish your paint; for material already published it lasts until we have removed your nickname, where we reasonably can, after your objection. To have your nickname removed, email us (see the Privacy Policy). Other players may record sessions too; we are not responsible for their recordings.
No Warranty, Limited Liability
The Service is a free experiment, provided “as is”. We may change or end it at any time, and sessions and their paint can be lost at any time.
We are fully liable for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and wherever the law does not allow a limit. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or lost data, and our total liability is limited to EUR 20.
Changes and Law
We may update these Terms on this page and will announce significant changes in the game. These Terms are governed by the laws of the country of Georgia, and the courts of Tbilisi have jurisdiction; if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws and the courts of your country. If a provision is invalid, the rest remain in effect.
